When Manela and Company was founded in 2002, Yosef Manela’s very first clients were non profit organizations that could not pay him. Yosef felt strongly that by giving to others, the universe (or God, as per Yosef) would give back to him. Yosef still very strongly feels that he has a debt to be repaid back to the higher power for all the goodness and kindness he has experienced. In the summer of 2002, when other first year law school students at UCLA were interning at large firms, Yosef spent his entire summer voluntarily revamping the financial systems, books, and records of A Touch of Kindness, Inc, a local community organization helping the indigent with the basic necessities of life. It was an incredible experience of giving, nurturing, and achievement that Yosef looks back on fondly. Yosef remained a director of Touch of Kindness, Inc for the next 22 years watching the population served by the organization increase ten fold along with its’ respective budget as well as internal controls and reporting obligations.

Since then Manela and Company advises the Larchmont Clubhouse and Maor – both are academic programs helping students with a wide range of unique learning profiles and special needs. Manela and Company even includes personnel to help advise parents who are encountering academic, social, and emotional / mental health challenges for their children. Our firm founded Comprehensive Educational Advocates of California, Inc as a resource to assist further.

Manela and Company is also a proud sponsor of programs for the California Dance Institute as well as performances conducted by local schools.
